Beyond Rarity

BEYOND RARITY  |  In 2021, we launched a breakthrough tool to revolutionize NFT rarity assessment and valuation. The 1.0 version helped us tackle NFT rarity by giving new control to creators who have been held hostage by the frequency of their elements being the sole determination of value. In our 2.0 evolution, we’ll be adding pricing projections and a novel new UI on top of our rarity engine, to create a tool that will revolutionize the NFT evaluation space.

BR 1.0 – Reimagining Rarity

The current methods of measuring NFT rarity are flawed. All rarity tools rely on an old model of simple frequency statistics. Roughly meaning, if there’s less of something, it’s worth more.

NFT project creators and communities need more freedom to determine what’s valuable in a collection, and more often than not, the frequency of something isn’t sufficient.

Beyond Rarity allows founders the ability to adjust the values of the traits and features of their collection they believe to be most valuable. These controls consist of 3 categories: trait weights, vibes, and utility.

1. Trait Weights

Creators can assign different levels of importance to different traits (Are the rarity of eyebrows as important as the rarity of full body gear?)

In the TribeX example below, lighter-skinned individuals are more rare in the collection. Should that make them more valuable? In traditional rarity tools that can’t account for human sentiment, lighter-skinned individuals will automatically be valued higher based solely on their frequency and nothing else.

Beyond Rarity enables creators to weight their trait categories, and in this instance the category of “skin tone” can be assigned a value of “0” so it will not be a factor in the valuation of their collection.

2. Vibes

Creators can now create deeper value with coordinated elements in Vibe sets. (Given elements of the same frequency, an NFT can be more valuable the more coordinated its elements are. )

In the Wall St Moms NFT example below, if you have 2 or more of any the baby-themed elements and outfits, the NFT qualifies for the “Baby Whisperer” Vibe.

3. Utility

They will also be able to assign a utility value, especially useful in Play to Earn games where the value of the elements isn’t determined by how many exist, but rather by its usefulness within the game.

In this Freaks N’ Guilds example below, the “rarity” of low Health doesn’t matter when considering the valuation of the NFT. Players will always pick the NFT with the higher health rating over the token that has a rare health rating.

The reason is an NFT with high health rating has real value inside the play-to-earn game. And the fact that low health is rare is completely irrelevant in this situation.

BR 2.0 – Reimagining NFT Valuation

With our ground-breaking Rarity Engine complete, we are currently integrating our pricing engine, which will enable users to assess NFT collections like never before.

Breakthrough Features

The centerpiece of BR is its commanding visual display of valuation vs rank for each and every NFT in a collection, all in one view. Know at a glance what is over / underpriced, and its deviation from expected.

It will integrate up-to-date pricing data with our ranking algorithm (as described above in the 1.0 section) for a nuanced analysis that captures ranking the way the creators intended.

Users will be able to Assess the rank of the NFT and quantitatively know with a confidence score what the buy/sell price should be. Data-based decisions supported with statistics.

It will analyze your wallet to size up the value of the NFTs you own against all the other NFTs in the same collection.

Users get notified of hot deals based on rank, price, and price deviation criteria that you can customize.

The Future of NFT Evaluation

The period of rampant NFT speculation is over. Users will demand tools that will provide new ways to evaluate the fundamentals of the assets they are looking to invest in. Beyond Rarity is one of those tools that will be at the forefront of this revolution.
